Samantha Whetstone
Samantha is an ICF ACC accredited corporate coach and consultant with 13 years’ experience working with top tier global law firms and multinational organisations.
Prior to becoming a coach, Samantha worked as an international corporate, finance and general commercial lawyer, notably with Ashurst, Hogan Lovells, BNP Paribas and Anglo American, and across a range of sectors including finance, energy, infrastructure and commodities. She therefore has a strong understanding and first-hand experience of the dynamics and challenges often faced within law firms, the legal profession and the above sectors in general – whether as an individual or from the perspective of organisational or team performance. With over five years of in-house legal experience, she is also extremely attentive to clients’ commercial drivers and the relationship dynamics among in-house teams, external counsel and internal stakeholders.
Clients greatly value the combination of Samantha’s structured and pragmatic coaching approach, which draws on her commercial experience, and her deep empathy and intuition. Her coaching focusses on assisting clients to develop increased self-awareness, address unconscious behavioural patterns or mindsets, consider alternative perspectives, cultivate strong working relationships and make lasting, sustainable changes. She also has training in analytical psychology, neuroscience within coaching, somatic coaching and the Hogan psychometric assessments, which she incorporates into her coaching practice where appropriate.
Samantha is familiar with several geographical markets, having spent a large part of her career based in Singapore and Switzerland in addition to the UK, and she has a particular interest in the psychology of expatriation, in which she recently completed a master’s level research project. She now operates out of London and Lisbon, and she is proficient in several European languages.
